A Joint Resolution to Stop Pinging

Many legislators think it’s funny to just ping every second of the day for things that don’t even relate to Congress. This resolution is being made as the President Officers have failed to regulate this disruption.

Be it enacted by the Senate and the House of Representatives of the State of Firestone in Congress assembled,

§1. Title
(a) This Joint Resolution shall be known, and may be cited as, “A Joint Resolution to Stop Pinging”.

§2. Enactment
(a) This Act shall go into effect as an Act of Congress upon completing the processes constitutionally required.

§3. Severability
(a) Should any part of this Joint Resolution be struck down and/or declared unenforceable, then that part shall be severed with the rest remaining in full force and effect unless all is struck down and/or declared unenforceable.

§4. Enforcement
(a) This resolution shall be enforced by the Speaker of the House and the President of the Senate.

§5. Provisions
(a) Congressional officials (Senators and Representatives) within the Firestone State Legislature discord, with the unique Discord id of 392154397188161537, shall be prohibited from pinging the Representative and Senator roles within the Discord unless:

(i) Requesting cosponsors for a bill for the first time
(ii) Notifying Congress regarding the outcome of legislation
(iii) Coordinating Congressional events with the rest of Congress

(b) The Speaker of the House, Speaker Pro Tempore, President of the Senate, and President Pro Tempore shall be exempt from this Joint Resolution.

(c) Failing to abide by this Joint Resolution shall result in a strike being issued by the presiding officer upon the respective Senator or Representative of their chamber.
