Preamble: To make Funpark22’s life easier

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY OF ARBORFIELD COUNCIL HERE ASSEMBLED THAT,

SECTION 1

This document shall be legally empowered and binding upon the completion of the process set out by the City Charter.

SECTION 2

Should any part of this document be struck down and/or declared unenforceable, then that part shall be severed with the rest remaining in full force and effect unless all is struck down and/or declared unenforceable.

SECTION 3

  1. Whereas Article IV, Section 13 currently states “When necessary, the Chairperson is responsible for hosting all City Council elections in the City of Arborfield, however if the position is vacant, the Deputy Mayor or Mayor will fill in. Only citizens of the State of Firestone are eligible to run for Councilperson of the City of Arborfield. Candidates for the position of City Councilperson must abide by all laws enacted by the City of Arborfield, as well as any additional rules enacted by the Mayor. They will be disqualified from the election and will no longer be considered a candidate for the position of City Councilperson if they do not meet these requirements. The number of open positions shall be equal to the number of vacant positions on the City Council. There must be six (6) open positions at the start of each term. If the number of candidates who meet the requirements to run in the election equals the number of open positions, those candidates will be elected automatically to the position of City Councilperson. If there are more eligible candidates than open positions, a public vote will be held to determine the winner(s) of the elections, which will be open to all residents of the City of Arborfield and possibly other citizens of the State of Firestone. The winner or winners will be elected to the position of City Councilperson. The election will be held using a plurality voting system, which means that the candidates with the most votes will win the election and the open position (s).”
