A Bill to Recognize Trade Unions

BE IT ENACTED BY THE STATE OF FIRESTONE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1: The creation of trade unions shall be authorised, with Congress responsible for legally recognising a trade union. Employees shall be able to create trade unions for a particular profession, which shall be responsible for representing the interests of that profession to the government, in terms of negotiating workers’ rights and their rate of pay.

SECTION 2: A trade union shall be defined as an organization responsible for representing the interests of employees within a particular profession, and protecting their rights and furthering their interests with regards to rights and pay.

A. A profession shall be defined as a paid occupation.

B. Legal recognition shall be defined as both chambers of Congress having passed legislation officially recognising a trade union with a majority (½ + 1) in each chamber.

SECTION 3: The Congress of the State of Firestone shall be responsible for legally recognising individual trade unions.

SECTION 4: This legislation shall go into effect immediately upon passage.

SECTION 5: All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.
