A Bill to Re-Define Misuse of Emergency Services

BE IT ENACTED BY THE STATE OF FIRESTONE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1: The Firestone Criminal Code shall be amended.

SECTION 1B: The Firestone Criminal Code shall be defined as: this

SECTION 2: Chapter 1, §6 of the Firestone Criminal Code currently states;

“(a) The act of misusing emergency services shall be recognized as an unlawful criminal offense within the State of Firestone.

(a1) Misuse of Emergency Services shall be the act of utilizing the 911 system, emergency services request system, paging system, or any other reasonable medium that exists for the purpose of requesting services, and committing one, some, or all of the following forbidden acts:

(a1.1) To report an incident that reasonably does not require transportation assistance, law enforcement response, or emergency response.

(a1.2) To intentionally hinder law enforcement’s capability to perform their duties as prescribed by law.

(a1.3) To request an incorrect or inappropriate service for the nature of the incident.

(a2) Utilizing the emergency services system to report reasonable suspicious activity shall not be construed as a forbidden act of this code.”

SECTION 2B: Chapter 1, §6 of the Firestone Criminal Code shall be amended to state;

“(a) Misuse of Emergency Services shall be recognized as an unlawful criminal offense within the State of Firestone.

(a1) Misuse of Emergency Services shall be the act of utilizing the 911 system, emergency services request system, paging system or any other reasonable medium that exists for the purpose of requesting services, and committing one, some, or all of the following forbidden acts:

(a1.1) To report an incident that reasonably does not require intervention from Law Enforcement, Fire & Health Services, or Transportation Services.

(a1.2) Intentionally and Maliciously reporting an incident that has not occurred.

(a2) Utilizing the emergency services system to report reasonable suspicious activity shall not be construed as a forbidden act of this code.

(a2.1) Utilizing the emergency services system to report an incident, whilst requesting the wrong service shall not be construed as a forbidden act of this code.

SECTION 3: This bill shall go into immediate effect upon completion of the constitutional process required for constitutional amendments.

SECTION 4: Should any part of this legislation be stuck down and/or declared unenforceable, then that part shall be severed with the rest remaining in full force and effect unless all is struck down and/or declared unenforceable.
