A Bill To make Contempt of Prominence Council a Criminal Charge
Preamble: There is no current law within Prominence that tackles obstructing official proceedings of the Prominence Council which there should be like other municipalities where their form of “Contempt of Council” is a crime.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE DISTRICT OF PROMINENCE COUNCIL HERE ASSEMBLED THAT,
SECTION 1
- The Firestone Criminal Code (“CC”, “FCC”, “Criminal Code”) shall be defined here.

SECTION 2

Chapter 9, Section 1 of the Criminal Code shall be created and shall state “§Section 1 - Contempt of Prominence Council”.

“Contempt of Prominence Council” shall state the following:
Contempt of Prominence Council shall be the act of obstructing or disturbing or hindering the proceedings of the Prominence District Council as laid out in the District Charter, floor rules or other applicable procedural legislation or rules. Failure to abide by a lawful inquiry shall also constitute Contempt of Prominence Council.
(#) Contempt of Prominence Council shall be recognized as a Class A Misdemeanor and shall carry a punishment of up to 450 seconds within the Firestone Department of Corrections penitentiary.
SECTION 3
This crime shall have the ability to be enforced by any law enforcement officer that operates within the District of Prominence
SECTION 4
This District Ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon passing the legal processes as described by the District Charter.
