A Bill to Criminalize Hitchhiking
BE IT ENACTED BY THE DISTRICT OF PROMINENCE COUNCIL HERE ASSEMBLED THAT,
SECTION 1
- The Firestone Criminal Code (“CC”, “FCC”, “Criminal Code”) shall be defined here (Trello).
- “Hitchhiking” shall be defined as standing on any roadway designed for vehicular transportation requesting unpaid transit
SECTION 2
- Chapter 9, Section (put section number here) of the Criminal Code shall be created and shall state “§1 - Hitchhiking”.
- “Hitchhiking” shall state the following:
(a) Hitchhiking shall be recognized as an unlawful criminal offense in the District of Prominence.
(b) Hitchhiking shall be defined as standing on any roadway designed for vehicular transportation requesting unpaid transit
(c) This violation may be considered null and void if said person is requesting transportation from the Department of Transportation.
(d) Hitchhiking shall be recognized as a Class C Misdemeanor and shall carry a punishment of up to a $75 FSD citation.
SECTION 3
This crime shall be enforced by any law enforcement officer that operates within the District of Prominence
SECTION 4
This District Ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon passing the legal processes as described by the District Charter.
