A Bill to Amend the “Public Safety Unification Act V2”

BE IT ENHANCED BY THE STATE OF FIRESTONE CONGRESS THAT:

SECTION 1: Section 5B and 5C of the “Public Safety Unification Act V2” shall be amended.

SECTION 1B: The “Public Safety Unification Act V2” shall be defined as:

SECTION 2: Section 5B currently states: The Governor of Firestone has the ability to overrule and thus nullify any ruling, decision, directive, policy, etc. made by the Department of Public Safety should the need and desire arise to do so. The Governor of Firestone has the ability to set policies and regulations that the Department of Public Safety must follow should the need and desire arise to do so.

SECTION 2A: Section 5B shall now state: The Governor of Firestone has the ability to overrule and thus nullify any ruling, decision, directive, policy, etc. made by the Department of Public Safety should the need and desire arise to do so; likewise, the County Executive has the ability to overrule and thus nullify any ruling, decision, directive, policy, etc. made by the Department of Public Safety should the need and desire arise to do so towards County Departments. The Governor of Firestone has the ability to set policies and regulations that the Department of Public Safety must follow should the need and desire arise to do so.

SECTION 3: Section 5C currently states: Should a concern arise with a department head about a ruling or decision of the Department of Public Safety, the Secretary of Public Safety shall be required to respect the concern of the department head and resolve the concern in question. If a notable disagreement arises between a department head under the jurisdiction of the Department of Public Safety and the Secretary of Public Safety, the Governor shall be expected to resolve the disagreement in an appropriate and efficient manner.

SECTION 3A: Section 5C shall now state: Should a concern arise with a department head about a ruling or decision of the Department of Public Safety, the Secretary of Public Safety shall be required to respect the concern of the department head and resolve the concern in question. If a notable disagreement arises between a department head under the jurisdiction of the Department of Public Safety and the Secretary of Public Safety, the Governor shall be expected to resolve the disagreement in an appropriate and efficient manner for state departments; likewise, the County Executive shall be expected to resolve the disagreement in an appropriate and efficient manner for County Departments.

SECTION 4: This legislation shall go into effect immediately upon passing both chambers and signed into law by the Governor.
