A Bill To Allow Charter Ratifications

PREAMBLE

Due to an issue in the forum format bill, it prevents charters from being ratified.

BY VIRTUE OF THE COUNTY CHARTER OF STAPLETON COUNTY THE COUNCIL HEREBY ESTABLISHES THAT:

SECTION 1.

The “Stapleton County Forums Act” shall be defined here.

SECTION 2.

Section 5(a) of the Stapleton County Forums Act currently states:

“Any submissions of legislation, resolutions, impeachments, expulsions, amendments, and other legal writing pertaining to any Municipality’s Legislative branch, as prescribed by their respective Charter, shall not be accepted unless presented in a Firestone Forums post under the designated category (Municipal Legislation).”

Section 5(a) of the Stapleton County Forums Act shall be amended to state:

“Any submissions of legislation, resolutions, impeachments, expulsions, amendments, and other legal writing pertaining to any Municipality’s Legislative branch, as prescribed by their respective Charter, shall not be accepted unless presented in a Firestone Forums post under the designated category (Municipal Legislation). This shall be voided if the submission is a Municipal Charter ratification.

SECTION 3.

Section 5(b) of the Stapleton County Forums Act currently states:

“Any submissions of legislation, resolutions, impeachments, expulsions, amendments, nominations, and other legal documents pertaining to the Stapleton County Legislative branch, as prescribed by the County Charter, shall not be accepted unless presented in a Firestone Forums post under the designated category (County Legislature).”

Section 5(b) of the Stapleton County Forums Act shall be amended to state:

“Any submissions of legislation, resolutions, impeachments, expulsions, amendments, nominations, and other legal documents pertaining to the Stapleton County Legislative branch, as prescribed by the County Charter, shall not be accepted unless presented in a Firestone Forums post under the designated category (County Legislature). This shall be voided if the submission is a County Charter ratification.

SECTION 4.

Upon passage of the Stapleton County Council and signature by the County Executive, this bill shall be effective as County law immediately.
