Verifying signatures matters as well. This is online, it’s easy to make alts and flood fake signatures.

that is a matter of concern for any election, which is why the most major election/s (gubernatorial) use a certified system where voters are checked, and also why signatures alone is never the deciding factor in ANY election (except for one or two edge cases).

There’s a pretty large difference between signatures and elections.
