Ok, before you all start saying “no, bad idea” at least hear me out.
I know this idea has been proposed before and no one seems to think it will work. But, if executed correctly, I believe having dispatchers in Firestone would greatly increase the realism in the community as well as increase efficiency in law enforcement, fire department, and other public services. For instance, how many times have you seen 911 calls come in with little information or the information be tagged? Also, how many times have you seen a 911 call and wish you had more information behind it? A dispatcher would not only enhance the 911 system but also aid in helping LEO’s manage BOLO’s, direct officers to active calls, and create a more realistic experience. I do know a handful of people who like the idea, but think staffing will be an issue. However, a simple solution, when no dispatchers are online emergency services can go back to how they normally do things. No need to run things through dispatch and whatnot. But, in larger servers, dispatch would highly aid in enhancing realism as well as ensuring a proper and quick response from emergency services.
A simple overview of how I think the system could work:
-If dispatchers are online, when someone calls 911 they would be forwarded to the dispatch center. They would then be in contact with a live player who will ask them customized questions about the incident to ensure the most amount of information is transferred to units. If the dispatcher(s) are busy, they could direct a call to an automated system (same that would be used when no dispatchers are online).
-Dispatchers would help manage officers status, direct them to calls, give them information, and even possibly help with getting information that is not able to be found in-game. Dispatchers would also relay information and whatnot to other agencies if needed. Essentially, operating based off of a real dispatch center. If no dispatchers are online, this is abandoned and officers can just talk to one another and read calls like normal (basically the current V2 system).
-Dispatchers would also help with assigning scenes their own tac channel to ensure nothing overlaps. Another good idea for this would be for dispatchers to have the ability to “open up” (create a channel) for a scene when all other channels are in use. Example, in V2, if TAC1 and 2 are being used, dispatch could open up “TAC3”, an auxiliary tac channel not usually open.
Personally, I just believe dispatchers would help increase realism in V3. Especially with all the new tech that will be coming up. If it is a small server or no dispatchers are online, then the game could automatically revert to a system where dispatchers are not required, similar to a current V2 system. However, I have a feeling Firestone would have no problem hiring dispatchers, especially if the department was secondary. While this cannot be enjoyed 24/7, it definitely would be a very nice addition to large V3 servers, for increased realism. That’s what Firestone strives for, after all, right? Just think how cool it would be, though.
Sorry if this is like hella not-understandable, it is very late and I am tired. I can better answer questions tomorrow for clarification.
