BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:
Section I: The current listing and offense in Chapter 6, §9 of the Criminal Code shall be nulled.
Section II: Chapter 6, §9 of the Criminal Code shall be reestablished and entitled “§9 - Insurrection”
Section IIA: Chapter 6, §9 shall state: “(a) The act of Insurrection shall be a criminal offense in the State of Firestone.
(a1) Insurrection shall be the act of attempting to, or succeeding in, a notable, sudden, and unlawful seizure of power from the government and its officials.
(b) The violent, unlawful seizure of government facilities, buildings, institutions, etc. shall also qualify as Insurrection under this offense.”
Section III: Chapter 6, §9 of the Criminal Code shall be a Class A felony, punishable in-game by 900 seconds in prison. Upon conviction in court, the penalty shall be no less than half the maximum incarceration time, and no more than the max incarceration time pursuant to the Constitution.
Section IV: Chapter 6, §8 of the Criminal Code currently states: “(a) The act of treason shall be recognized as an unlawful criminal offense within the State of Firestone.
(a1) Treason shall be the act of waging war against the State of Firestone or provides aid to the enemies of the state, when such subject owes allegiance to the State of Firestone.
(b) Subjects convicted of committing this offense shall be required to be sentenced to at least 1/2 the maximum possible sentence in prison, as prescribed by the constitution.
(c) Any offenses committed in the process of committing treason may have their respective sentence multiplied by four, given the subject is convicted in a court of law of committing such an offense, and it has been proven that the subject committed the offenses as an accessory to treason.”
Section IVA: Chapter 6, §8 of the Criminal Code shall now state: “(a) Treason shall be recognized as a criminal offense in the State of Firestone.
(a1) Treason shall be the act of waging war against the State of Firestone, or providing aid or comfort to her enemies when the individual committing such acts is a citizen of the State of Firestone.”
Section V: Chapter 6, §8 of the Criminal Code shall now be classed as a courts only offense, only to be adjudicated by a court of law. Upon conviction in court, the penalty shall be no less than half the maximum incarceration time, and no more than the max incarceration time in pursuant to the Constitution.
Section VI: Chapter 1, §10 of the Criminal Code shall be nulled.
Section VII: Chapter 6, §15 shall be established and titled as “§15 - Terror”
Section VIIA: Chapter 6, §15 shall states: “(a) Terror shall be recognized as a criminal offense in the State of Firestone.
(a1) Terror shall be the act of employing violence or the threat thereof in an effort to coerce or strike fear into the public or the government for the purposes of furthering a political or social goal/agenda.
(b) The intentional killing of an elected or appointed (and confirmed) official under any level of government due to their status as an official of the government shall constitute Terror under this offense.”
Section VIII: Chapter 6, §15 of the Criminal Code shall be a Class A felony punishable by 900 seconds in-game. Upon conviction in court, the penalty shall be no less than half the maximum incarceration time, and no more than the max incarceration time in pursuant to the Constitution.
Section IX: Any person convicted in a court of law for an offense under Chapter 6, Sections 8, 9, or 15 shall be ineligible to hold any office of public trust in the State for as long as the conviction remains on their record. Being convicted of any of the aforementioned offenses shall be grounds for termination, expulsion, or impeachment as relevant to the office(s) of public trust the individual holds.
Section X: The courts and all law enforcement agencies with the power to arrest shall enforce this act.
Section XI: This act shall go into effect immediately upon passing the Constitutionally required processes to do so.
