Should the District of Prominence have jurisdiction over Greendale and Hillview?

Recently the County Council passed a new charter making the towns of Greendale and Hillview under the District of Prominence.

The new charter can be found here: The County Charter of Stapleton County - Google Docs

This section of the charter was written in such a way as to mimic the previously established Municipalities Jurisdiction Act, which among other things, pre-defined Greendale and Hillview to be underneath Prominence. In essence, nothing here is changing - this has already been the case for some time now.

There’s really no issue with those two towns being under the District of Prominence. As the Chairman stated, Greendale and Hillview have already been under Prominence prior to the passage of this new County Charter, so what’s the issue now?

Yes, but know that we are aware of this I believe it should be changed, a city should govern their city, not neighboring towns

Empowering municipalities to conduct their government in more broadened areas isn’t a bad thing, in fact, it will likely help with activity and roleplay in general under the Prominence District. It’s not like the two towns can be divided among Redwood or other municipalities across the map.

The reasoning behind these towns originally being under the Prominence government, and the reasoning behind why they still are today, is due to two defining factors: A) Neither of the two towns have a defined or functioning government, and B) due to their close proximity to Prominence main.

this effectively removes the idea of having unincorporated areas around the map (which is apart of the SP’s jurisdiction)

No, I believe it should be under the County, not a city just because its close

The only valid argument I could see for not having the two EXTREMELY small towns under Prominence is if they had their own local government, which obviously isn’t the case.

they should be their own because they’re both epic places.

It would make better sense under the county government, it is also more realistic that way

This addition has already been around for quite some time, the only difference with it now is that it’s chartered instead of recognized in an Act. Should Fed end up having issues with it down the line, then we will address those concerns as they may come up, however, we do not feel there is a tangible benefit to changing our pre-defined system surrounding municipal governments at this time, as, in addition to previously outlined reasonings, both the Sheriff’s Office and State Patrol still have jurisdiction over these areas despite them being apart of a municipality. It should also be noted that, despite being under the jurisdiction of the Prominence government, Hillview and Greendale are, as they also were under the prior Municipalities Jurisdiction Act, defined as towns with their own borders/jurisdictions. Therefore, it COULD be argued that, if not under the jurisdiction of the DP, Hillview, and Greendale would instead be independent instead of unincorporated, but this is up for interpretation.

it already is and still will be under the county government

maybe i should better word it;

it should solely be under the county, not prom- it is also more realistic that way

it’s more realistic to have an unincorporated area only under the superior government instead of the appropriate municipal subordinate?

personally i dont think it changes much- both towns barely have anything- GD has the fng base but obv the city cant exercise any jurisdiction on it, but really its no noticeable change
