Results of the Referendum to Remodel Elections

A legally binding referendum was held to decide whether or not the First Past the Post (FPTP) voting system shall be replaced with the Single Transferable Vote (STV) voting system and the Instant-runoff voting (IRV) system.

The votes where:

  • Total votes casted: 113

  • Yes: 73

  • No: 40

This referendum is in favor of switching the voting system to Single Transferable Vote (STV) for multi-seat and Instant-runoff voting (IRV) for single-seat elections.

The Senate and the House of Representatives are obligated to enforce this result through appropriate legislation.
