SCFD get infinite cones. Not a single other department does. They should not get infinite - it is over the top. But, it is also HIGHLY unrealistic - in real life, you don’t get infinite cones. It is impossible unless you have a built-in supply line that is rapid in the back of your truck.
Additionally, there was a large MVA scene at cd earlier. There were tons of cones. I would say 50-100 all in the area on RW BLVD from Bloxmart to Bloxy Creme. It’s over the top and again, unrealistic. Just about 5 minutes into that large MVA scene, the server died. The majority of people were kicked (more than half), ruining great roleplay. This needs to stop. I personally believe this was as a result of the cones, and so do a lot of other people.
So, basically. I think infinite cones should be removed. Yes, they should get more than LEOs. Maybe 15-20. But if that is the case, DOT and DPW should also get 15-20. DOT and DPW do traffic management - it is a main part of their jobs.
If anything DOT should get infinite cones. They have to do traffic control & use cones to direct cars in. Additionally, they also need it for Mass Roleplays.
For the record, SCFD should keep the infinite cones. You can roleplay that you get more from the fire house or something. I haven’t seen it abused so why take it away?
There’s no reason to take our infinite cones away. As stated before, nobody abuses it and we need it for proper traffic enforcement and not just that. This person clearly doesn’t know anything about our job, kthxbye
instead of take our cones away because dot/dpw don’t have as many, just give dot and dpw infinite. problem solved because our lives would be hell (not like it isn’t already) without our anti ramming fucktard 2000s (aka cones)
i think you are the only person who believes that the placement of the cones were the reason for the server to die. V2 has over 200k parts, “50-100” cones wont cause the server to crash, do keep in mind the sever was up for 3+ days.
scfd already gets rammed numeros times, us game moderators try our ultimate best to kick all those interfering with a medical scene, but unfortunately we aren’t able to kick every single rammer. i dont blame them for using a large amount of cones.
i encourage scfd to use as many cones as they desire to ensure their scene does not get rammed.
To all of you who think this is a rant towards SCFD, it isn’t.
The server thing was purely an example. I didn’t say it definitely died because of the cones. I said it’s what I think. Everyone can have an opinion smh, and that’s mine
I’m saying it’s unrealistic to have so many (infinite cones). And if they are going to have it, then DOT and DPW should have it too. Part of their job, as I said, is traffic management.
For those of you who think I’m just jealous of the cones, well, think again. I’m not. Not at all. I’m saying what I think, and I think it’s unrealistic. And other departments need it just as much. DOT is constantly rammed and it can take 15 minutes to tow a car that is on 4 wheels with no damage and just ran out of gas on the far right lane in the highway. DPW is also constantly rammed, and so is SCFD. So those 3 should be the ones getting infinite cones if any, not just SCFD.
I agree with marking zones for mass casualties. That’s different. But when cones were being used earlier, I saw some cars were actually struggling to get through and hitting cones, not on purpose. What happened is 2 lanes had to be closed on RW Blvd, and those two lanes had been diverted to the protected turn one for the intersection and through to the other side, round the scene. Now, that’s realistic but not when cars are struggling to get through and some simply didn’t know where they were meant to drive.
But I need to reiterate, this is not in any way shape or form a rant towards any department, or jealousy. I’m stating what I think, and that’s it.
It wasn’t abused as such at the scene today. It was just unclear and unrealistic, with way too many marking out a lane, and as I said: cars struggled to get through and round the scene, causing more congestion.
And I’m not saying change it any more. You’ve gave you’re points and they’re good. So ok, keep infinite cones. But use them more effectively and give other departments them (or at least more) too.
