I believe the constitution should be amended to allow for recall elections. The reasoning behind this is because if multiple individuals go inactive, and a quorum isn’t met, then the active congress wouldn’t be able to remove them. Additionally, this would create a non-political check on individuals in power and allow for the citizens to ensure that their congress best represents them.
How would this work?
Someone would have to gain evidence of inactivity, negligence, or any other type of expulsion proof and create a publication forum on the issue. The petition would require 30 signatures in order to be voted on. From there the Chief Court Justice would be responsible for creating a way for citizens to vote, preferably using Firestone Forums voting. Voting would last for 72 hours. If the measure passes than the individual would be temporarily barred during that term and the presiding officer would be responsible for opening elections to fill the vacancy.
What are your thoughts on this? Would you like to see recall voting for congressional officials?
Yes, Firestone needs a form of recall elections for congressional officials
No, Firestone does not need a form of recall elections for congressional officials

The plan outlined above is a suitable way to conduct recall elections

Just because you get 20 supports doesn’t mean you can become a senator. If an election occurs many people will vote besides the 20 supporters.
Same with Governor election. Just because you create an election speech thread doesn’t mean you become Governor. People will still vote on the matter at hand.
What prohibits this right now within the normal congressional chambers for expulsions? At least this would be more open to the public instead of only 13 voters you have the entire state voting.
What number @mwb8265@1superchris2 do you guys think would be suitable for initiating a recall vote though?
The idea was double the number of supporters for a candidate. Since the house requires 15 signatures to be on the ballot, to remove someone you would need 30. We can tweak the senate version too to make it be 40 signatures.
I feel like this would only be useful if congress itself was failing to do their collective job. One individual falling short is almost always met with a swift in-house expulsion, so it’d kinda be a waste of time to go this route.
