No, but you can use cones to mark the scene area.

So when a hostage taker shoots one bullet at the roof as a warning shot on the top floor of SCMC, it’s now an active shooter situation therefore all officers must breach to the top floor in seconds before the hostage taker kills the hostage. Gotchu fed! Can’t wait to see hostage situations have a 100% mortality rate now!

Yes, shots fired is shots fired, that’s considered active shooter because he was actively shooting? Now if he shoots 1 time, and stops, you slow down and do building clearance.

No, if he fires one warning shot, you don’t breach because it’s an active shooter situation, you attempt to de-escalate the situation by negotiating; not running inside and aimlessly clearing the building of which you already know the location of hostages and the gunmen. Unnecessarilly breaching will do more harm than good and will end up in the deaths of most, if not all the hostages.

its hard to keep people out of CD, they just want their cars ykw

make more places for hostage sits, similar to cd (big, open), cus its an annoyance to everyone trying to keep civs out

I don’t understand why we have such specific rules for stuff like hostage situations. The incident is totally situational. It depends across the board. There is not one hostage situation. Theres a billion.

In many times in history, for example, shots have been fired and police have held back, like in the Iranian embassy siege.

You can’t confirm if its a warning shot.

These are broad changes that apply for all situations.

And even if it’s not a warning shot, would you rather have one injured hostage with the rest of the hostages unharmed or all hostages dead because you breached the building after hearing one shot being fired?

But if you stay out and not go in, you are liable for their deaths for not acting on the shooting.

They won’t die from one shot but they will die from an AK-47 mag being dumped into the back of their head once you breach because you heard one shot being fired. Bear in mind the one shot you heard could also be a misclick from the hostage taker.

I don’t think it’s a good idea to make ALL leos have guns out to negotiate face to face with criminals. Officers usually do this to earn the suspect’s trust. Imagine if in v3, the huge ‘Bank of Firestone’ was taken over and like 12 hostages were trapped, what if FBI/IO snuck in to gather info and acted as a hostage, it’s many scenarios where cops must go in with no guns but idk

You know how feds rules work just go by them, and you’ll be fine.

Cops should not “act” like hostages either, definitely not allowed.

I dont agree with officers going in with their gun drawn, if you have some dumb criminal who can’t negotiate or is trash at hostages, the hostage is more likely to be shot dead as the taker may get trigger happy with armed cops inside.

so if a car is parked in front of a bank, can you get fsp officers to hide on the sides or in front of the car and when they get in and run they put spikes in front and behind the car so the taker cant take off?

So you’re gonna go in there and be shot dead instead? Not smart,
