I believe Firestone needs an official, Government approved/managed criminal code for citizens viewing and public viewing. With it being government managed someone could have to role to make sure it is up-to-date.
The current criminal code or “MDT” for LEO’s is out of date at some points and can be unreliable.
We need a criminal code that contains tabs displaying State Laws, County Law, and Separate City Laws as well as Judicial Warrants (unless devs add something for warrants in game like gun permit). Like the current MDT it needs to show the time and fine.
I’ve seen the county and cities pass laws and they are not enforced, why?
No one knows about them! The public have no eye to the city/county government or what goes on in it.
Firestone has many laws, and they are not updated enough and they are spread out between trellos. It’s hard to sort through and find State, County, and City laws.
It is a little crazy that when I patrol I have to have the Legislative Trello, Judicial Trello, and the MDT open to find laws and warrants. I also have to take time to make sure a law wasn’t amended at one point to make sure I don’t give someone the wrong time or fine.
Sadly, I don’t even worry about city or county laws as I don’t have time on patrol or during an arrest to look through more trellos!
Interesting. I always considered codifying the legal code. However, that would be a huge undertaking. It could be useful for everyone though. But the only trouble is it’d need to be separate with each level of government. And might I remind you, state level law enforcement have no obligation to enforce county or municipal law, nor do county law enforcement have any obligation to obey municipal law. This is the inherent issue with municipal governments btw. The same as state courts don’t enforce county law.
I do have a note though. If we do make this, it really needs to be done by those who are experts or have experience in the judicial, legislative, and executive branches. I’m talking senior judges, pro governors, and senior congressmen. I don’t mean to be rude but I can count with my fingers and toes how many people I feel wouldn’t fuck this up. I mean hell, more than half the LEOs think you can add things like “attempted” or conspiracy to” to most crimes and bingo bango. Or how almost no LEO can tell me how name and badge, miranda, property, and etc. that are kinda important work. Most of them legit use the exact definitions of their MDT as if it were law. Hell, I’ve had way too many try to cite the MDT in case requests. This is not an attack, but something like this that really can’t be messed up should be in proper hands.
I concur. It should be made by the people who study and understand the law. Like you, myself, etc. It needs to be in the right hands, because the current one is fucked up
Another thing, we don’t need “A Bill to Define Laws” and they define like 20 laws on it. Those are hard to locate and they leave stuff out like punishment times/fines. Laws should be defined one at a time.
Well that was made during the start of the state my good sir, and I believe it makes it easier because you can just CTRL + F on a document, not run through about 20 different links.
Another thing, the MDT needs to link all the bills to the law.
Also, when a law is amended someone needs to go on the old one and put somewhere on the trello card [VOID/NULLIFED/AMENDED], etc. (Not sure if this is done.)
