unlimited? no. more than five? yes.
in the SCFD, unlimited cones (and flares) was glorious, but people rarely knew how to use them properly.
if LEOs and other departments have their caps increased, traffic placement and control may well have to be expanded in training courses.
LEOs and Public Employees go through a training which teaches them how to use cones and flares. FSP, specifically, has a division which enforces the traffic regulations, and they get an extensive training on how to use cones and flares to set up road closures, checkpoints, perimeters, and detours. Same with FDoT, they are trained for cone placement and it will really help during mass RPs. @Jeffrevin
pls teach me how to fit more than 5 cones in my little trunk.
i think 5 is good for LEOs
SCFD maybe 5-10
DOT should get like 15
I mean, irl officers dont happen to have like 50 cones in their vehicles, DOT maybe we can give them some sorta truck that has a bed filled with signs and cones, which would allow extra placement. As far as flares go, max is currently 3 and theyâre still overused. One of my biggest pet peeves, if an officer has his vehicle blocking traffic and his lights on, a flare is not needed, the patrol car takes care of it!
max is 5 actually
Flares is currently 3, maybe itâs different for DOT but itâs still overused.
oh i thought you met cones
I can confirm for Fed that DoT only gets three flares as well
I agree. What I am trying to say is that the current allowance for LEOs to have 5 cones and DOT to have 10 cones isnât enough. I think they should be given more than just that. I agree with your decision in regards to FDoT of giving them a truck for additional needs. But I still do feel like LEOs should get at least 15, if not more than that, as we do occasionally actually need them. @FederalLaw
More than 5 is unrealistic for cops
for the first time in world history i agree with sharm
think we all do
as former SCFD (ish), I found that I never used my cones extensively across two candidacy periods over 4 months. LEOâs are already on the damn scene. GIVE LEOâS MORE CONES!
They arenât the best for cones either. Through S1 - S4, they had NO training about how to place cones. They literally just had the definition : Cones - Used for directing traffic during the day , Flares - Used for directing traffic during the night. EDITED: I think they have unlimited flares as well, but I canât remember.
The problem with "unlimited cones/flaresâ would it would take away from the realism, FD carries about 10-25 cones depending on what unit, (at least we do.) EMS doesnât even carry cones, we have safety triangles/flares. People would abuse these cones and from the above image where SCFD placed those cones doesnât make sense in a real world setting. It blocks EMS/FD if they are bringing gear/stretcher, its more of a nuisance, this actually brings the idea we need less cones. Yes it does block the wreck but you need it wider for emergency vehicles to actually be in there.
Fed I understand we trying to be realistic here but letâs face it, Firestone has to many trolls and to many people that donât RP and that want to annoy scenes.
SCFD gets unlimited in FS plus they never use them.
bruh moment
no because they pull cones out of their ass
