An Amendment to XIV

An Amendment to XIV

PREAMBLE: Whereas certain law enforcement officers have difficulty interpreting ‘reasonable grounds’, and whereas there is no legal definition for ‘reasonable grounds’, though there is one for ‘probable cause’.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE STATE OF FIRESTONE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1) The Firestone Bill of Rights shall be amended.

SECTION 2A) Section XIV of the Firestone Bill of Rights currently reads: Citizens can be frisked or searched by law enforcement agencies only when a law enforcement officer has reasonable grounds to do so. It is illegal to not stop for law enforcement. Search or seizure on grounds of ethnicity, religion or political beliefs is illegal. Private properties cannot be searched by law enforcement without a search warrant, although in an emergency - where there is reasonable belief that life or property is in danger - law enforcement officers may enter private properties. Citizens cannot enter restricted government property before undergoing Homeland Security safety and security inspections. The Homeland Security shall not be restricted to deny any entrance of a citizen on a restricted government property if the officer has reasonable grounds.

SECTION 2B) Section XIV of the Firestone Bill of Rights shall now read:
Citizens can be frisked or searched by law enforcement agencies only when a law enforcement officer has probable cause to do so. It is illegal to not stop for law enforcement. Search or seizure on grounds of ethnicity, religion or political beliefs is illegal. Private properties cannot be searched by law enforcement without a search warrant, although in an emergency - where there is probable cause that life or property is in danger - law enforcement officers may enter private properties. Citizens cannot enter restricted government property before undergoing Homeland Security safety and security inspections. The Homeland Security shall not be restricted to deny any entrance of a citizen on a restricted government property if the officer has reasonable grounds.

SECTION 3) This amendment shall go into effect immediately upon passing both chambers of Congress.
