Mr. BROTIX_RBLX submitted the following amendment; which shall be read and considered on the floor of the House of Representatives and the Senate of the State of Firestone.
To to the Constitution to establish the Congressional consent of appointing a lieutenant governor.
Be it enacted by the House of Representatives of the State of Firestone in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1 — SHORT TITLE.
(a) This amendment to the Constitution may be cited as "An Amendment to Section V of the Executive Article ".
SSEC. 2. — RESPECTIVE AMENDMENT.
(a) Amendment.—Section V of Article II of the Constitution is hereby amended—“The Governor shall be required to appoint a new Lieutenant Governor should the previous Lieutenant Governor resign or be removed from office, such appointment shall be subject to the consent of both the House of Representatives and Senate, with supermajority in favor. It shall be forbidden for Congress to not expedite such process in their respective chambers. The Lieutenant Governor shall become the Governor should the previous Governor be removed from office or resign. The previous Governor shall be temporarily barred from holding a government office until the end of the term should he or she be impeached from office. The previous Lieutenant Governor shall also be temporarily barred from holding a government office until the end of the term should he or she be impeached from office.”
SEC. 3 — SPONSORS AND PROVISIONS.
(a) In General.—This amendment shall be initially proposed to the House of Representatives, subsequently after being passed, this amendment shall be considered in the Senate, whereas, in the case of passage, this amendment shall be in full effect.
(b) The Governor and State Legislature shall be obligated to enforce this amendment.
