An Amendment to Ensure Marine Safety
BE IT ENACTED BY THE STATE OF FIRESTONE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:
SECTION 1A: Chapter 4, Section 14 shall be added to the Firestone Criminal Code and be named “§14 - Reckless Boating”
SECTION 1B: Subsection’s a, a1, a2, and a3 shall be added to Chapter 4, Section 14 of the Firestone Criminal Code.
SECTION 2A: Chapter 4, Section 14, subsection a of the Firestone Criminal Code shall state, “Reckless Boating shall be recognized as an unlawful offense in the State of Firestone.”
SECTION 2B: Chapter 4, Section 14, subsection a1 of the Firestone Criminal Code shall state, “Reckless Boating shall be the act of, through clear and extreme disregard for other’s safety, operating a watercraft in a way that creates an undue hazard to another. This includes, but is not limited to, performing donuts on a watercraft at a hazardous distance to another, bouncing your watercraft at high speeds at a hazardous distance to another, driving a watercraft onto a shore with people at a hazardous distance to your watercraft, and driving a watercraft unreasonably close and dangerous to another.”
SECTION 2C: Chapter 4, Section 14, subsection a2 shall state, “A hazardous distance shall be defined as a distance that can reasonably cause harm to another, and/or damage to another’s property.”
SECTION 2D: Chapter 4, Section 14, subsection a3 shall state, “The Firestone Coast Guard, Stapleton County Fire Department Search and Rescue, and Firestone Department of Corrections Marine Division shall be exempt from this section if their emergency lighting system is on.”
SECTION 3: Reckless Boating shall be a Class C misdemeanor, with a punishment of 200 seconds in a correctional facility.
SECTION 4: This bill shall be enforced by all law enforcement agencies as well as the courts.
SECTION 5: This bill shall go into effect immediately after completing the constitutional procedure required.
