An Act to Fix Assault and Battery
BE IT ENACTED BY THE STATE OF FIRESTONE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:
SECTION 1: The Firestone Criminal Code shall be amended.
SECTION 1B: The Firestone Criminal Code shall be defined as: Firestone Criminal Code
SECTION 2A: Chapter 2, §6 - Assault of the Firestone Criminal Code currently states:
“(a) The act of assault shall be recognized as an unlawful criminal offense within the State of Firestone.
(a1) Assault shall be the act of attempting to willfully and maliciously make physical contact with another person without their consent.”
SECTION 2B: Chapter 2, §6 - Assault of the Firestone Criminal Code shall be amended to state:
“(a) The act of assault shall be recognized as an unlawful criminal offense within the State of Firestone.
(a1) Assault shall be the act of maliciously attempting to injure another person without their consent.”
SECTION 3A: Chapter 2, §8 - Battery of the Firestone Criminal Code currently states:
“(a) The act of battery shall be recognized as an unlawful criminal offense within the State of Firestone.
(a1) Battery shall be the act of willfully and maliciously touching another person without their consent.”
SECTION 3B: Chapter 2, §8 - Battery of the Firestone Criminal Code shall be amended to state:
“(a) The act of battery shall be recognized as an unlawful criminal offense within the State of Firestone.
(a1) Battery shall be the act of maliciously injuring or applying offensive force on another person without their consent.”
SECTION 4: Should any section of this act be struck down and/or declared unconstitutional, then that part shall be severed with the rest remaining in full effect, unless all is struck down and/or declared unconstitutional.
SECTION 5: This act shall go into immediate effect upon completion of the constitutional process required for constitutional amendments.
