A JOINT RESOLUTION to Establish the Sergeant at Arms

BE IT ENACTED BY THE STATE OF FIRESTONE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

PREAMBLE: To restore the post of Sergeant of Arms to its original form; A temporary position appointing on a needed basis by the Presiding Officer as opposed to a permanent post.

SECTION 1. ESTABLISHMENT

(a) The Presiding Officer of a congressional session may appoint an individual to serve
as the “Sergeant at Arms” for that congressional session.

(b) A Sergeant at Arms may be removed by the Presiding Officer of the congressional
session that Sergeant at Arms is serving in at any time.

(c) A Sergeant at Arms may be removed by the chamber of Congress in session with a
simple majority vote. Should a Sergeant at Arms be removed by the chamber of
Congress in session with a simple majority vote, the Presiding Officer is not
permitted to appoint the same individual for the said position.

SECTION 2. DUTIES AND ABILITIES

(a) The Sergeant at Arms shall, at the order of the Presiding Officer of the
congressional session, remove any individual out of the congressional chamber should
they break the rules of that chamber of congress, or a law.

(b) The Sergeant at Arms shall compel the absence of an absent member of the chamber of
Congress in session when a motion ordering such to be done has passed.

(c) The Sergeant at Arms is responsible for the enforcement of the law within the
chamber of Congress in session, and shall be considered the highest ranking Law
Enforcement Officer within that congressional session.

(d) The Sergeant at Arms must respect all lawful orders given by the chamber of Congress
in session, specifically by the Presiding Officer of that congressional session.

SECTION 3. This legislation shall go into effect immediately.

SECTION 4. REPEALMENTS

The following shall be declared null and void: Joint Resolution to Further Define the Sergeant at Arms of the House of Representatives and the Senate
